This watercolor was based on a photograph I took at Mission San Miguel.Looking hrough the old dilapidated gate at the monument in the garveyard was like looking into the past and you could get there by walking through this gate!

This was painted from the parking lot near the lower dam on Crystal Springs Resevoir. It was a calm morning but the slight breeze made a distinct pattern on the still water that was too interesting to ignore.

This painting was from a photo I took while vacationing in New England a few years ago. These are fast disappearing and evoke a feeling of nostalgia among those of us who have lived with them.

This may not be a dramatic scene, but I liked the faint sun shinning on the hillock through the morning fog. You will recognoize this scene as you come down Hiway 1 right before it meets Hiway 84.

Another painting from my trip to New England as you can tell by the rock formation that the stream has cut through.

This is an early work, but still remains one of my nicest efforts as the brushwork is simple and direct which is in harmony with the subject.

This was painted from a photo I took along 17 Mile Drive just before Point Lobos. I tried to minimize the actvity in the water so as not to distract too much from the shapes formed by the tree trunks

This was painted on the walk out to Pillar point in Half Moon Bay. As to the title, one of the names is the dog, the other the owner. You choose which!

This stream from the spring runnoff is now long gone, but made an unusual subject for a beach scene.

The blues are quite strong in this picture, but it was a bright day and the colors seemed intense. I notice that when I paint outdoors I tend to use a high-key palette. I liked the contrast of the small playful boats against the resting working boat.
